a scavenger hunt through…

Portland, unlocked.

Weird little adventures across the city, designed for folks who think sightseeing is a waste of time. Self-guided hunts, your phone, your crew.

What is PDX Hunt

Scavenger hunts built for people who'd rather get lost on purpose than wait in line at Voodoo Doughnut.

Each hunt is a self-contained little world — a themed route through a Portland neighborhood with clues that send you to places you'd never find on a guidebook list. Solve on your phone. Go at your own pace. Laugh at each other.

How It Works

Four steps between you and a really specific Portland story.

  1. 01

    Pick a hunt

Browse themed routes — bridges, bookstores, ghosts, food carts. Each one's its own tiny world.

  2. 02

    Grab your crew

Solo, date night, bachelorette, whole office — hunts scale up to groups that can still fit on one sidewalk.

  3. 03

    Follow the clues

Open the hunt on your phone. Solve, walk, unlock. No download, no guide, no awkward tour microphone.

  4. 04

    Win weird bragging rights

Beat the hunt, collect a dumb trophy, go find a beer. Optional leaderboards, required high fives.

Ryan Aughenbaugh

co-founder

Ryan's the one who notices the weird plaque on the back of the building nobody goes behind. He builds the hunts — the routes, the riddles, the reason the third clue sends you somewhere that smells like donuts.

Erik Withak

co-founder

Erik handles the technology and the operations — basically anything that has to keep working while someone's lost in Sullivan's Gulch. Will argue about coffee. Will find the bathroom nearest to wherever you are.
